I have been an artist since the first years of my life. Like every kid, I loved art; and that didn't change as I grew older. I attended college in Rio, at the Rio de Janeiro University (Faculdade da Cidade), from 1990 to 1996, where I got a degree in Visual Communication. I was working as a fashion design and merchandising assistant then; and had the chance to learn a lot about that market. When in san Diego, I took fine art and design classes, and earned a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at San Diego City College. That's when I won a Mention of Honor in branding at the AIGA Student Portfolio review. By showcasing my portfolio with strong samples in brand identity and illustration, I was able to win amongst students from all San Diego county programs. After that I found work at local design firms, and on freelance projects for companies in the biotech, apparel and music industries. In 2011 I bought "Awesome Artist", a ceramics studio in Coronado, which I converted into an art school for kids and teens and a design studio for myself and design associates. It was a fun and successful business that offered effective art programs, and that exposed me to an amazing learning experience on a small business level, and what it needs to become successful. I now work from my home based studio, and my clients are mostly small businesses, start up companies and entrepreneurs. I also do pro bono work for my community and was responsible for the Coronado Film Festival brand identity and The Carlsbad Learning Center murals.
